Al-Qāʾim (Arabic: القائم "He Who Arises") is a messiah-like figure in Shia Islam, sometimes referred to as the Mahdi, but distinctly of a Shiʿa tradition.[1] Believers in Babism and the Bahá'í Faith both consider the Báb (1819-1850) to have been the Qāʾim.
