New England Institute of Technology (New England Tech or NEIT) is a private university with its main campus in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. It was established in 1940[2] and Richard I. Gouse has been the president since 1971.[3]
Campuses
New England Tech's main campus is located on One New England Tech Blvd, East Greenwich with two smaller campuses located in Warwick.[4]
East Greenwich Campus
The East Greenwich Campus is the main campus for all administrative, residence, athletics, and student services.[5] The campus's centerpiece is a newly renovated 265,000-square-foot facility[5] dedicated to classrooms, technical labs, medical suites for training simulations, and administrative services. The interior features technical labs and an open atrium with multi-tiered waterfall.[3] A 400-bed residence hall is also located on the East Greenwich campus.
The building had been intended to serve as headquarters for the Eckerd Corporation.[3] The site was purchased in 2007 still unfinished, and extensively customized for New England Tech.[3] It opened to students in summer 2011; a major expansion begun in 2014 added dormitories and new instructional space.[3]
Julian B. Gouse Campus
The Julian B. Gouse Campus is a 57,000-square-foot facility containing classroom and laboratory space located on Post Road in Warwick, Rhode Island.[4]
Access Road campus
The Access Road Campus consists of four buildings, including an automotive technician school which opened in 2005.[4]
Academics
The university is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education. The New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) is one of seven regional higher education accrediting bodies in the United States. NECHE has granted NEIT continued accreditation through 2033. It offers degrees in various technical areas, including plumbing and heating ventilation, architectural design, nursing, occupational therapy, veterinary technology, business management, criminal justice and software engineering, shipbuilding and advanced manufacturing.[3]
National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium
The National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (or NAFTC) has a Training Center located at NEIT.[6]
Since NEIT started as a professional building trades school in 1940, the university has evolved to offer associate-level through Master's degrees in 50 plus majors in more than 12 areas of study, including health sciences, computer science, video game design, engineering, cybersecurity, and business.

- The Early College Program is a dual-enrollment program for eligible high school students to earn college credit while finishing senior year.
- NEIT will offer a new graduate-level program in Fall of 2024, the Post-Master's Certificate in Nursing Education (PM CNE) serves as a specialty certification for nurse educators to help meet a nursing faculty shortage across the U.S. (Reference, PBN)
- NEIT’s Master of Public Health (MPH) was granted a five-year accreditation in June by the Council on Education for public Heath (CEPH), ensuring that this program meets the highest standards in public health education and training.
- NEIT’s College of Health Sciences The mission of the CHS is to create and provide health science programs that prepare students for career opportunities in healthcare. In 18 months, students can take on positions like registered nurse (RN), occupational therapy assistant, medical lab technician, and more. Graduates can train in as little as 36 months for leadership positions such as rehabilitation specialist, and RN to BSN, allowing nursing student's to get their bachelor's in nursing. Graduates of this program may enter: Bachelor of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Sciences Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with the Healthcare Management/Respiratory Care concentration
