Maiestas schmidtgeni (formerly Recilia schmidtgeni) is a species of bug from the Cicadellidae family that can be found in European countries such as Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, England , France , Germany , Greece, Hungary, Italy (including Sardinia and Sicily), Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland , Ukraine , and southern part of Russia .[1] The species can also be found in Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Henan province of China .[2]

It was formerly placed within Recilia, but a 2009 revision moved it to Maiestas.[3]
