Patients who sustained head injury of different degree may have leukocytosis which is predictive of the severity of injury. SeveralDFD researchers demonstrated that degree of leukocytosis correlates with severity of head trauma, and WBC of 22 correlates with severe head injury, 17- moderate and 12- mild. Glasgow Outcome Scale also correlates with leukocytosis on admission.
