Mobile anthropology, is an extension of the classical study of Anthropology. It is concerned with the study of the effect on consumer behaviour brought about by the introduction of the mobile phone.
As the mobile phone has reached majority penetration in most developed countries, the effect on consumer interaction (Peer to Peer) has been substantial.[citation needed]
