Juncus duranii is an uncommon species of rush known by the common name Duran's rush. It is endemic to southern California , where it is known only from the San Gabriel, San Bernardino, and San Jacinto Mountains.[1]

The plant grows in wet habitat in the local forests.

Description

Juncus duranii is a perennial herb forming clumps of thin, flat stems up to about 20 centimeters tall. The inflorescence is usually a single cluster of stiff, brown flowers accompanied by a long, rolled bract. The fruit is a capsule containing tiny lance-shaped seeds.
