Calositticus floricola is a species of jumping spider (family Salticidae) with a Palearctic distribution. They are typically 4–4.5 millimetres (0.16–0.18 in) in length. Females are dark reddish brown, with an almost black anterior.[2]

Until 2017 it was placed in the genus Sitticus.[1]

Habitat and ecology

The species lives in bogs, marshes,[3] fen and meadows, on the heads of plants like Eriophorum vaginatum (cotton grass) or similar, on which the spiders occasionally spin their cocoons.[4] In Britain, they can be found from March to September.[5]
