The stripe-capped sparrow (Rhynchospiza strigiceps) is a species of bird in the family Passerellidae. It is found in Argentina , western Paraguay and southeastern Bolivia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical dry shrubland.
The South American Classification Committee of the American Ornithological Society (AOS) has split this species into two: yungas sparrow (Rhynchospiza dabennei) and chaco sparrow (Rhynchospiza strigiceps).[1]
