ChroPath is a browser extension[1] [2] [3] [4] for development of web applications. ChroPath generates xpath and cssSelector. It makes easy to write, edit, extract, and evaluate XPath queries on any webpage. It supports all popular programming languages, including C#, Groovy, Java, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby and Scala etc. ChroPath runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS. ChroPath supports multiple browsers Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera. ChroPath is free software. [1] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11]

History

ChroPath was originally invented and created by Sanjay Kumar in April 2017 as an XPath tool for software testing and development. The very first release was published on Chrome in April 2017.[1][12][13][14][15][16]

ChroPath was presented in Selenium Conf on June 30 by Kumar.[17][18][19]

In May 2018, Kumar launched the ChroPath for Firefox.[2]

On 25 Oct 2018, Kumar was joined by AutonomIQ, and AutonomIQ supported Kumar for ChroPath to support the community.. Together with AutonomIQ and ChroPath Community, Kumar continued with the development and stabilization of ChroPath.[20]

On 10 June 2019, Kumar launched the ChroPath for Opera.[3]

On 9 Jan 2020, Kumar launched the ChroPath for Microsoft Edge.[4]

The name ChroPath comes from the combination of Chrome and Xpath.

ChroPath is composed of several components with each taking on a specific role in aiding the development and testing of web application test automation.[21][22]
