Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU) is a next-generation lunar spacesuit developed by Axiom Space for use in NASA's Artemis program to support human exploration of the Moon.[1][2][3]

Overview

The suit is designed to provide astronauts with mobility, life support, and protection during extravehicular activities on the lunar surface, including operation in extreme temperature and radiation environments.[4]

AxEMU incorporates modern materials and modular systems intended to improve flexibility, durability, and maintainability compared to previous-generation NASA spacesuits.[5]

The suit is planned to be used on the lunar surface during Artemis missions later in the 2020s, supporting NASA's goal of sustainable human presence on the Moon.[6][7]
