Abdul-Monem Al-Mashat (Arabic: عبدالمنعم المشّاط) is an Egyptian political scientist and an expert on national security. He served on the Egyptian Embassy in Washington DC,[1] the World Bank, Institute of International Education and as a director of several research institutions in addition to numerous academic positions.

Biography

Al-Mashat's publications, since 1977, covered the topics of national security, the Arab-Israeli conflict, foreign policy in the Arab World, Arab culture, educational reform, development in Arab World, Arab security, US foreign policy and political development in the third world among others.

Al-Mashat obtained his BA and MA in political science from Cairo University in 1970 and 1975 respectively, and his PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1982 with a title for his thesis as: "Considerations in the Analysis of National Security in the Third World".[2][3] [4]
