Aghogho Okpara is an Irish-based medical student, educator, content creator, and public speaker known for her advocacy for educational equity and youth empowerment. She is the founder of Achieve with Aghogho (AWA), a non-profit initiative aimed at helping students from underserved backgrounds reach their academic potential.

Early life and education
Aghogho Okpara was raised in an immigrant household, where she lacked access to academic role models in medicine. Her early academic journey was marked by repeated setbacks. She attempted medical school admission multiple times, sitting several entrance examinations including the UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT), BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT), and Health Professions Admission Test (HPAT) but was unsuccessful in her early attempts.[1]
Following these setbacks, she enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical, Health and Life Sciences at University College Dublin. After several additional attempts and overcoming a fear of failure, she eventually secured admission into medical school.

Medical and Academic Achievements
During her medical training, Okpara received significant academic recognition. In 2023, she was awarded a gold medal for Research Excellence at the UCD School of Medicine, becoming the first Black recipient of the award.
Content Creation and Public Speaking
Okpara built a global digital presence where she shares educational advice, motivational content, and personal experiences. Her platforms have reached over 100 million people worldwide and attracted an audience of more than 340,000 followers. She has delivered talks at several institutions, including King's College London, Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin and Brunel University London
