Anatta Sonney is an Indian scientist[1] and the recipient of the Nari Shakti Puraskar prize, an annual prize and the highest award for women in India .[2] Sonney was honored with the award by President Pranab Mukherjee in 2016 along with two other women scientists from ISRO Satellite Centre in Balgalore, India, Subha Varier and B. Codananyaguy.[3]

Sonney has worked at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in a number of historic space missions including the Chandrayaan mission, Mangalyaan mission and the launch of 104 satellites at one time.[4][5] She designed and develop the orbit determination system for the satellites and helped to ensure the execution of the missions.[6] She contributed towards the Mars Orbiter Mission and was given the award for "Chandrayaan-1 Payload Instruments, Science Data Centre and mission operations."[7][8]
