Biography:Konstantin Belov (physicist)
Konstantin Petrovich Belov (1911–2001) was a Soviet and Russian professor of experimental physics and a recipient of both USSR and Lomonosov Prizes.
Life and career
Konstantin Belov was born in a town of Yegoryevsk, near Moscow.[1] He graduated from the Moscow State University in 1934 and then remained there going through ranks of postgraduate student, assistant, associate professor and eventually becoming a professor. From 1954 to 1988 he was the head of the Department of General Physics for Science Faculties. He was one of the first Russian scientists to create textbooks on physics and was a founder of the Department of Magnetism and Research Laboratory of Magnetism at Physics Faculty of his alma mater. During his early scientific career Belov had studied magnetoelastic filaments and electrical phenomenas of ferromagnetic metals and alloys.[2] He died on 19 June 2001.[1]
