Early life and education

Austin was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He developed an early interest in athletics and competition, particularly soccer, and competed at a high level for several years, including with the Ontario FC Nationals.[3][6]

The business expanded steadily, managing all lawn care works for various clients, including multiple government properties with an array of automotive-driven facilities such as tool and mold plants. After successfully scaling his lawncare business, Austin exited the company marking his first experience in building, scaling, and operating a local enterprise.[6][9][12]

Austin Roofing & Waterproofing

In 2013, Patrick joined Austin Roofing & Waterproofing as a laborer,[1] working his way through hands-on experiences in all aspects of the business, which initially focused on residential and small commercial roofing projects throughout Southwestern Ontario. As the company evolved, he assumed increasingly senior roles, contributing to operational growth, workforce development, and strategic planning. [3][6][7][9]

Austin was appointed as Vice President in 2016, a role he served in until he was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in late 2024. Under his leadership, the company has expanded its focus towards large-scale commercial, industrial, and agricultural roofing and waterproofing projects. In early 2022, Austin was selected as the roofing contractor for the township of Plympton-Wyoming, Ontario, for a commercial roofing project, where he oversaw and successfully executed the new Parks and Recreation Facility. In late 2022, Austin was awarded a multi-million-dollar contract for a local private equity firm, for the management and oversight of multiple roofing projects across Ontario. In 2023, Austin was awarded the Ottawa International Airport project, executing the work of a complete roof restoration over the World Fuel and Sky Service facilities. In early 2025, Austin was awarded a 5-year, multiple-phase, roofing project for Canada Brick’s manufacturing plant, overseeing the installation and restoration of numerous roofing assemblies. In late 2025, Austin was voted in by the City of Markham, Ontario, as their preferred roofing contractor for a heritage building restoration project, where he oversaw and successfully managed the new roofing assembly under strict guidelines and tight operational time frames. In early 2026, Austin was awarded and selected as one of Green For Life Environmental (GFL’s) preferred roofing contractor for service, maintenance and oversight of their industrial facilities across Ontario.[2][8][9]

Austin Roofing & Waterproofing is now a multi-generational enterprise with more than 40 years of operational history across Ontario, specializing in the execution of some of the province’s most complex commercial and industrial facilities. The company specializes in flat roof restorations and fluid-applied waterproofing systems while also focusing on its new construction division and installation of single-ply membranes. The company continues to serve a diverse portfolio ranging from Fortune 500 organizations to privately held, family-owned businesses. The Company is now working on expanding its operations across Canada, particularly Calgary, through strategic acquisitions.[2][8][9]

Austin Roofing America

In 2024, Austin expanded its Canadian operations into the United States, founding Austin Roofing America, servicing cross border relations. The organization applies restoration-based roofing and waterproofing systems adapted from its Canadian operations to U.S. commercial and industrial markets.
