Actinopus diablo is a species of trapdoor spider in the family Actinopodidae first described in 2023 by researchers Martín J. Ríos-Tamayo and Pablo A. Goloboff. The species is native to Argentina and is notable for its striking coloration and its ecological role in its native habitat.[1][2] The specific name diablo is derived from the Spanish word for "devil", referencing the spider's dark appearance.[3]
