Aquilegia aurea is a species of flowering plant in the family Ranunculaceae native to Bulgaria and North Macedonia, where it is restricted to mountainous regions. In Bulgaria it grows in Vitosha, Rila, Pirin and the western Rhodope Mountains.[1][2]

Aquilegia aurea is herbaceous perennial plant growing in rocky Alpine meadows at altitudes of 1,800–2,300 m. It has light greenish yellow campanulate flowers and blooms in June and July.[2]
