Cabalus is a Oceanian genus of birds in the family Rallidae.[1] Both species in the genus were previously considered part of the genus Gallirallus.

It contains two species, one extinct and another possibly so:
- New Caledonian rail, Cabalus lafresnayanus - possibly extinct
- Chatham rail, Cabalus modestus - extinct
