The Esmeraldas woodstar (Chaetocercus berlepschi) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae. It is found only in Ecuador.[1] Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest.[2] It is threatened by habitat loss.[3] Researchers recently found Esmeraldas woodstars at eleven new localities and collected the first female specimens of the species.[4]
