The Institut de recherche biomédicale des armées is a restricted military medical research establishment in France, for all three armed services.
History
Before 2009, each service had its own research facility, but all three were combined as an organisation on 1 March 2009. It was formed from the Formed from CRSSA: Centre de recherches du service de santé des armées at La Tronche, IMTSSA: Institut de médecine tropicale du service de santé des armées at Marseilles, and IMNSSA: Institut de médecine navale du Service de santé des armées at Toulon.
Jean-Marc Todeschini opened the new site on 18 February 2016 at Brétigny-sur-Orge.

The director is Dominique Felten.[1]
The site is blurred on Google Maps, due to secrecy. It is next to the D19 road.
Research
- Arboviruses, orthopoxvirus and anthrax
- Chemical blister agents (vesicants)
- Organophosphate neurotoxic agents, and medical countermeasures
- Biological effects of ionizing radiation
- Cognitive ergonomics
It conducts research into aviation medicine, chemical warfare, and biological hazards with highly-contagious diseases, so cannot make this research public. It works with French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), CNRS, Inserm, Inra, the Pasteur Institute, Agence nationale de la recherche, Alliance nationale pour les sciences de la vie et de la santé, Direction générale de l'armement (DGA), Pierre and Marie Curie University, and Paris Descartes University.
