Juglans cathayensis var. cathayensis, whose Chinese name is 野核桃（原变种）,[1] is a variety of Juglans in the family Juglandaceae. This species is sometimes arbor[clarification needed]-like and sometimes shrub-like, up to 12-25 meters tall.[2] It is distributed in China 's Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi and other places.[3]
