Kirinia epaminondas is a Palaearctic[2] butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. It was described by Otto Staudinger in 1887.[1]

Distribution

Kirinia epaminondas occurs in the Amur Oblast and Primorsky Krai of the Russian Far East,[2] as well as in East China , Korea and Japan .[3][1]

Habitat and host plants

The habitat of K. epaminondas consists of dry, thin forests[4] and shrubby habitats.[1] Host plants include Brachypodium spp.,[3] Poa ochotensis[3] and Poa angustifolia.[3]

Behaviour

Butterflies are on wing in July and August.[1]
