Komarovia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Apiaceae.[1] It only contains one species, 'Komarovia anisoptera' Korovin [2]
It is native to Uzbekistan in Central Asia.[2]
The genus name of Komarovia is in honour of Vladimir Leontyevich Komarov (1869–1945), a Russian botanist.[3] The Latin specific epithet of anisoptera is made up of two words; aniso meaning unequal or uneven or and also ptera from Greek pterux word meaning wing.[4][5] It was first described and published in Commem. Vol. 70th Ann. V. L. Komarov on pages 427-430 in 1939.[2]
