Metaxya rostrata is a species of fern in the family Metaxyaceae. It is native to northern Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela.[1] It can be found in all five natural regions of Colombia.[2] It is characterized by its large fronds that are 1–2 m long.

The species was first described as Aspidium rostratum by Carl Sigismund Kunth in 1816. In 1836 Carl Borivoj Presl placed the species in genus Metaxya as M. rostrata.[1]
