Philosinidae is a family of damselflies .[1] The family comprises two genera found mainly in Southeast Asia.[2][3]
Taxonomic history
The lineage was historically included within Megapodagrionidae. In his revision of that family, Janis Rácenis (1959) recognised Philosininae as one of five subfamilies within Megapodagrionidae.[4]
Subsequent molecular phylogenetic studies supported recognition of the lineage as a distinct family within Zygoptera, and Philosininae was elevated to family rank as Philosinidae.[2]
