Pronothobranchius is a genus of aplocheilid fish native to western Africa.[1]

There are currently four recognized species in this genus:[1][2]
- Pronothobranchius chirioi Valdesalici, 2013[2]
- Pronothobranchius gambiensis (Svensson, 1933)[2]
- Pronothobranchius kiyawensis (C. G. E. Ahl, 1928)[3]
