Pseudotrimezia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Iridaceae first described as a genus in 1945. The entire group is endemic to the State of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil .[1][2][3]

The genus name is a combination of the Greek word pseudo, meaning "false", and the genus name Trimezia.[4]

It has been placed in the tribe Trimezieae, along with the genera Trimezia, Neomarica and Pseudiris. However, molecular phylogenetic studies have not upheld any of the genera within the tribe Trimezieae; three of the four main clades found combine species from more than one genus.[5]
