Sturisoma aureum also known by the common names Whiptail, Gylden Størmalle (Denmark), Helikoptermal (Sweden), and Stoerwels (Germany) is a species of armored catfish endemic to Colombia. This species grows to a length of 20 centimetres (7.9 in) SL. This species can be found in the aquarium trade. The specific name translates to golden sturgeon.
Distribution
Found in the Magdalena, San Jorge and Cesar River basins along with their tributaries. Replaced downstream by another Sturisoma species.[1]
