The Sumatran green pigeon (Treron oxyurus) is a species of bird in the family Columbidae, and is most closely related to the yellow-vented green pigeon. It is endemic to Indonesia, where it occurs in Sumatra and western Java. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is threatened by habitat loss and the pet trade.[2]
Behavior
Both males and females incubate eggs and bring small twigs to nests, which range from 2.5-6 meters from the ground.[2] They roost communally, in groups of up to 50.[2]
