Tmetolophota lissoxyla is a moth of the family Noctuidae.[1] It was described by Edward Meyrick in 1911 from a specimen collected on the Mount Arthur tableland and obtained from George Hudson.[2] It is endemic to New Zealand.[1] It is an alpine species which is common and widespread in good snowgrass in the alpine zone.[3] In 2019 Robert J. B. Hoare published a paper in which he undertook a major review of New Zealand noctuids. Hoare, having inspected the holotype specimen of this species, placed it within the genus Ichneutica.[4]
