As of April 2024[update], Plants of the World Online accepted the following species:[1]
- Vavaea amicorum Benth.
- Vavaea degeneri A.C.Sm.
- Vavaea megaphylla C.H.Wright
- Vavaea papuana F.M.Bailey
- Vavaea tubiflora T.D.Penn.
