Confluent is a software producer founded in 2014. Confluent was co-founded by Jun Rao,[1] Jay Kreps and Neha Narkhede in 2014. The technology for the company was invented by the company’s founders during their time at LinkedIn, in order to capture data in motion for user personalization.[2][3] The company held its IPO in June of 2021,[4] raising $825 million USD[5] in its listing on the NASDAQ.[1] Confluent has worked with Walmart, Instacart, Goldman Sachs, Robinhood, Michelin, Dominos, Capital One, and BMW.[5][6][7]

Software

The company runs Confluent Cloud,[8][9] and Confluent Platform. In 2019 Confluent released ksqlDB as a database for stream processing.[10] Confluent is also the producer of Confluent Schema Registry[11][12][13][12] and Confluent Connectors (2020)[14] that integrate Apache Kafka with other apps and data systems.[15] The company also produces Stream Designer for use in real-time data pipelines,[16] data streaming,[17] and Stream Governance, a governance suite for streaming data which includes the tools for stream quality, stream catalog and stream lineage.[18] In January 2023, Confluent acquired Immerok.[19]

Current

In the fall of 2022 Confluent hosted the Current 2022 conference.[3]
