Conservis LLC is a Minneapolis-based company that provides enterprise resource planning software to farmers.[1][2]
History
The company was founded in 2009 when four farmers asked Pat Christie and Eric Jackson for help with workflow management. Prior to this, the company was planning to enter the energy enterprise software and emissions trading sector but decided to not enter it due to the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 not getting through the US Congress.[3] With an eye on doing more with less, Conservis founders landed on "conserve". Conservis is a Software as a Service (SaaS) company who views the service component as being so integral that it was built into the DNA. Centered on supporting clients’ needs, founders landed on "service".
In July 2021, Conservis was acquired by the Dutch bank (Rabobank) and Canadian telecommunications company (Telus).[4]
Business
Conservis manages the business of farming throughout the full farm cycle, including land, equipment and crop assets at all stages of agricultural production to improve financial performance.[5] The company’s cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) platform offers business-oriented farms the ability to track field activities, manage resources and make better decisions.[6] It provides a wide range of software products for input management, harvest management, planning, budgeting, work orders and analytics.[3] Functioning as the hub of the farm's data, it provides reporting for bankers, regulators, insurers, and stakeholders.
Conservis has collaborated with Iteris to provide weather data and analytics to farmers.[6]
