History

DataDome was founded in 2015 by Benjamin Fabre and Fabien Grenier. The company is headquartered in New York City.[4]

The company has raised funding through multiple rounds. In 2017, it secured €2.5 million in funding led by ISAI and 50 Partners Capital.[5]

In 2021, DataDome raised $35 million in Series B funding led by Elephant, as reported by VentureBeat and SecurityWeek.[6][7][8]

In 2023, the company raised $42 million in Series C funding led by InfraVia Growth, according to TechCrunch.[9][10][11]

Technology and services

DataDome's platform uses machine learning and behavioral analysis to identify automated traffic.[12][13] The system evaluates requests using factors including IP reputation, device fingerprinting, and user behavior patterns.[14] The company's services address threats such as credential stuffing and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.[15][16]

In 2024, DataDome introduced Device Check, described as an alternative to CAPTCHA that analyzes device signals.[17] The company also launched products called Ad Protect and Account Protect and expanded its bug bounty program in partnership with YesWeHack.[18]

According to a 2024 report published by DataDome, 68% of U.S. websites examined lacked protection against basic automated attacks.[19]
