Dignio is a healthcare technology company, centrally involved in the establishment of virtual wards. It was established in Kråkerøy, Norway in 2010. It established a base in Manchester in 2020.[1] It also has a base in Birmingham and is involved with the Think Beyond Data initiative based at Aston University.
The technology uses the MyDignio App on smartphones, and connected Bluetooth devices are used to record their vital signs. When something falls outside an acceptable range, clinicians are alerted. After a successful trial, the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust announced plans in June 2022 to set up a 500-bed virtual ward using Dignio technology for patients with a variety of different conditions. Patients will use the MyDignio App to record their vital signs.[2]
