Doximity is an online social networking service for U.S. clinicians. Launched in March 2011, Doximity has over one million verified members as of February 2018.[2] With over 70% of U.S. physicians as members and a growing population of nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and pharmacists, Doximity is the largest HIPAA-secure medical network in the United States.[3][4][5] Doximity offers its members curated medical news, HIPAA-secure case collaboration, and messaging to connect healthcare professionals across specialties and medical centers.[6]

In 2016, the company was ranked #6 on the Deloitte Fast 500 North America list.[7]

Investors

In April 2014, the company announced it had raised a $54 million financing round led by the venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson and the mutual fund company T. Rowe Price. Morgan Stanley Investment Management also invested. This investment brought Doximity's total funding to $81 million.[8]

Doximity received $10.8 million in venture capital funding from Emergence Capital Partners and Interwest Partners in March 2011 and $17 million in Series B funding led by Morgenthaler Ventures in September 2012.[9][10]

Residency Navigator

In 2014, Doximity launched Residency Navigator, a tool to help medical students find residency programs that fit their professional needs. The Residency Navigator uses user-submitted evaluations and collected data to create a database of US residency programs, which students can then search and compare programs through.[11][12]
