EXAI is a Tel Aviv, Israeli-based company that offers software as a service for website building and hosting. The company's website builder uses drag and drop elements to create webpages, as well as a what-you-see-is-what-you-get feature. It was founded by Gal Moran with a founding capital of US$15 million.

History

In 2012, Gal Moran, who had experience with artificial intelligence and using advanced mathematics and statistical analysis, founded the company with US$15 million "to develop the most advanced website conversion technology" in order to make a more complex management process into a more "flexible and affordable" approach to other CMS systems.[4] Moran said that the company seeks to "disrupt a huge market...[where] website creation had been dominated by solutions that focus on simplistic and basic websites. However, these solutions don't effectively address the question of building an effective presence across multiple platforms." Later in the year, the company raised US$3 million in investment.[5]

The company's corporate headquarters is in Tel Aviv, Israel.[2] It employs about 50 people[5] through its offices in Tel Aviv, as well as Los Angeles and Skopje.[6] Though the company initially maintained a low-profile it had 15,000 websites created for clients.[1]

Products and services

EXAI's offers website management services for its clients. Its primary service is a CMS website builder that caters to users that do not have a technical background in coding or web design. This includes drag and drop elements to create webpages and a what-you-see-is-what-you-get feature. It offers automated processes[7] to users who want to re-design their website and/or migrate their websites to its platform.[8] A novel approach by the company is related to Facebook for business where some companies choose to feature their local businesses on Facebook. EXAI however used the reverse model where Facebook pages can be converted by automation into full websites.[1] This also works from websites such as Wordpress, Joomla and similar platforms.[9] It also offers the capability to convert SME websites to a mobile friendly version since Google introduced Mobile First Indexing .[10][7]

It further offers marketing tools such as SEO and professional marketer recommendations through its network.[11] Other services include: design customisation, domain hosting and unlimited storage.

Clients

Its clientele comprises directories, such as Yellow Pages, who prefer the technology to optimize sales cycles by increasing user satisfaction into sales conversions.[12] Other clients are SMEs.[13]
