Fisker Coachbuild was a car design firm based in Orange County, California. The company produced custom luxury cars, manufacturing only seventeen vehicles in total, from existing Mercedes and BMW bases. It also designed and manufactured aftermarket parts such as aluminum alloy wheels, engine covers and interior trim packages for select luxury vehicles.[citation needed]
History
The company was founded by partners, Henrik Fisker and Bernhard Koehler in January 2005.[citation needed] In 2007, Fisker Coachbuld merged with electric vehicle company Quantum Technologies to form Fisker Automotive.[citation needed]
Fisker Tramonto
The Fisker Tramonto is a hand-built sports car, launched in 2005.[1] Original production was scheduled to be limited to 150 pieces worldwide, but only 15 were ever built.[citation needed] It used the base architecture of the Mercedes-Benz SL.[citation needed]
Fisker Latigo CS
The Fisker Latigo CS, the second design from Fisker Coachbuild, was initially shown at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show, and was subsequently launched in 2007 with production limited to 150 worldwide.[2] It uses the base architecture of the BMW 6 Series and M6.
Ultimately, only two Latigos were ever produced, Car #000, which was the prototype car built on a BMW 645i chassis, and Car #001, which was ordered by a Southern California customer in the spring of 2007. The first, and last delivery was September 2007.[3]Template:Better reference
Joint ventures
Fisker Automotive was a joint venture between Quantum Technologies and Fisker Coachbuild formed in 2007.[citation needed]
