Intellect is a Singapore-based digital healthcare company that provides mental healthcare solutions to companies and individuals across the Asia Pacific region. It offers access to therapists, coaches, and self-guided mental health programs through its mobile app. The company was founded in 2019 by Theodoric Chew, and is headquartered in Singapore with offices in Tokyo, Hong Kong, India, and the Philippines.
As of 2022, Intellect stood as the leading mental health startup in Asia serving over 3 million members on its platform, and having raised the largest amount of venture capital funding to date within the region.[1][2]
History
Intellect was founded in 2019 by Theodoric Chew to provide access to mental healthcare across access-limited Asia.[3]
The company raised its first round of funding from Insignia Ventures Partners in a US$800K seed round.[4] The company later raised US$2.2M in early 2021 in it's pre-Series A round,[5] followed by it's Series A round of US$10M led by New York-based HOF Capital, joined by Y Combinator, MS&AD Ventures, East Ventures, Headline Asia and Insignia Ventures Partners.[6][7][8][9][10] Intellect later extended its Series A to US$20M led by Tiger Global, joined by K3 Ventures, JAFCO Asia, Singtel Innov8, PERSOL Holdings, Insignia Ventures Partners, and HOF Capital,[11][12][13][14] bringing its total funding amount raised to date to US$23 million.
