Lelit is a brand of Gemme Italian Producers S.R.L. that makes espresso machines, coffee grinders, and ironing systems including clothes irons and ironing boards.
The company was founded in 1986 by Edoardo Epis as a company producing steam irons. In 1992 the company expanded into domestic and commercial espresso machines. The company produces 50,000 espresso machines and 30,000 irons a year in their factory in Castegnato, Brescia, Lombardy. Gemme is now run by Edoardo's sons, CEO Emmanuele and his brothers Giorgio, Marco and Mauro.[1] Mauro Epis is R&D Manager and is responsible for designing many of Lelit's espresso machines.[2]
