Linguana is a technology company that provides global content distribution and monetization services for online video creators, with a focus on building and monetizing language-specific YouTube channels.
History
Linguana was founded by Yuval Tal (CEO) and Oded Shafran (CTO) in 2023.[1][2] The company began by offering a service to localize YouTube content into additional languages and to operate dedicated, localized channels on behalf of creators.[3]
In 2024, the company partnered with a growing number of creators and launching multiple localized channels including local language channels for The Military Show, Veritasium, The Infographics Show, etc.[4][5] In April 2025, Linguana announced a seed funding round of approximately USD 8.5 million from a group of investors and angels, with reports naming participants such as 2LVC and individual angels including Oren Zeev, Eyal Waldman and Oren Dobronsky.[4][1][6][7]
Services and technology
Linguana provides an end-to-end service designed to help video creators expand their global reach and unlock new revenue opportunities. The platform combines automated processes with human-in-the-loop review, offering translation, voice cloning, and AI-assisted dubbing that aim to preserve a creator’s tone and energy.[5]
The technology uses multiple AI models with human review to manage complex audio (such as multiple speakers or background noise) and to adapt cultural references for local audiences. Predictive tools help determine which videos to localize and the optimal timing for release.[8]
Linguana’s business model has been described by Jim Louderback as "zero-risk" for creators, since the company does not charge upfront fees; instead, it operates on a revenue-sharing basis once localized channels begin to generate income.[9]
