Move It is an American technology platform that provides on-demand moving, delivery, and junk removal services through a mobile application and online booking system. The company connects customers with independent contractors who assist with small moves, furniture delivery, hauling, and household labor. The company is headquartered in Henderson, Nevada, and operates in several cities across the United States.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]
History
Move It was founded in January 2019 by Las Vegas entrepreneur Michael Eshragh, a business owner and marketing professional who has owned, operated, invested in, and sold several businesses during a career spanning more than two decades in advertising and marketing. The concept for the company was influenced by the growing sharing economy, in which digital platforms connect users with independent service providers.[5][9][4][8][10]
Eshragh, a native of Las Vegas, has been nominated twice for the Vegas Inc 40 Under 40 award, a regional recognition program honoring young professionals and entrepreneurs in Southern Nevada.[5][8][9][4][10]
Eshragh had previously launched a fantasy sports startup called Fantasy Lineup in 2006. The venture did not succeed due to technical and legal challenges with its development, but the experience strengthened his interest in entrepreneurship. Years later, he developed Move It after observing the success of app-based platforms such as Uber, Lyft, and Airbnb, and noticing a lack of similar services for small moving and delivery needs in the Las Vegas area.[5][8][9][4][10]
Move It officially launched its services during the late 2010s and expanded its operations during the early 2020s. Despite launching shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic, the company reported early growth as demand for flexible delivery and moving services increased.[5][8][9][4][10]
Business model
Move It operates as a technology platform that connects customers with independent contractors who provide moving and delivery services. Contractors typically use their own trucks or vehicles and are classified as independent workers rather than employees.[11][4][10]
The platform allows users to request services through a mobile app or website. Customers can schedule on-demand or scheduled assistance for tasks such as:
- Small residential moves
- Furniture pickup and delivery
- Junk removal and hauling
- In-home labor, such as lifting or rearranging furniture
Users can upload photographs of items that need to be moved to help contractors prepare for the task. Pricing is displayed in advance through the platform before a job is confirmed.
Contractors are referred to on the platform as “Move It Pros” (truck owners) and “Move It Muscle” (labor providers). The service typically aims to connect customers with available contractors within a short time frame, often less than an hour in many service areas.
The company's platform includes features such as real-time job tracking and in-app communication tools that allow customers and contractors to communicate during the service process.
Expansion and operations
The company initially launched in the Las Vegas Valley, including Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada. Over time, Move It expanded to additional markets across the United States, including the Phoenix metropolitan area, Denver, Colorado, San Diego County, California, and Long Island, New York.[6][8][10][11]
The company has also partnered with various retailers, apartment complexes, and furniture stores to provide delivery and moving assistance.[6][8][10][11]
Recognition
Move It has received several regional awards and recognitions related to local business and technology startups, including:
- Best of Las Vegas – Las Vegas Review-Journal (2023, 2024, 2025)
- Best Tech Startup – Tech Tribune (2024)
- Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite (2021–2025)
The company has also received nominations in regional awards programs, including Best of Long Island (2026) and Best of San Diego by the San Diego Union-Tribune (2025).
Partnerships
Move It has collaborated with furniture retailers and property management companies to provide delivery and moving services. The company has also partnered with the furniture brand associated with entrepreneur and designer Kathy Ireland.[5][8][11]
