NIX — a group of companies with a team of 2,000 people worldwide, software developer, specialist in IT consulting, management and IT support; a pioneer of the Ukrainian IT industry.[1][2]

History

NIX was founded in 1994, which is why it became one of the first IT services providers companies in Kharkiv.

From 1994 to 1997, it worked on the development of specific software products, adapting existing developments to meet customer needs and automating customer projects using mainly C / C ++, Pascal and FoxPro. NIX started working with foreign clients, mainly Internet and telecom providers. Among them were the popular in the 90s LuckyNet (Israel), Doryanet (Israel), EZS Ltd. (USA), Barravoe Inc (Bolivia / Israel) and others.

In 1999, NIX got its present name: NIX refers to the names of the platforms that the company works with - Unix and Linux.

In 2000, the first large specialized departments and units were formed: PHP, .NET, Java.

In 2002, NIX first offered outsourcing services to Elance (now Upwork), global freelancing platform.[3]

By 2011, NIX had completed more than 250 projects for more than 90 clients in various business areas.[4]

In 2012, NIX began working with all mobile platforms: Windows Phone 7, Bada, IOS, Android. The number of employees exceeded 500 specialists.

In 2019 NIX is the №1 contractor in Europe and the TOP-3 in the world on the Upwork platform.[5]

By 2019, the NIX brand employs 2,000 IT professionals worldwide.[6]

As of 2019, there are 12 specialized departments within the group of companies: .NET, C ++, Android, Admins, CMS, iOS, Java, JS / UI, PHP, QA, Ruby, Python. To support the work of technical departments and to provide a full range of services, the following departments work: Sales, Project Management, Business Analysis, SEO, Public Relations, Marketing.[7]

NIX together with Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute and UNIT.Factory launched Innovative Campus — joint educational project. It includes an innovative educational IT-program, School of small and medium-sized enterprises and coworking space.[8] As of 2019, students are studying on campus in 5 specialties.[9]

As of 2019, the company of the group is ranked 7th in the Top 50 largest IT companies in Ukraine by DOU portal experts.[12]

The brand has been repeatedly recognized in international ranking by Clutch as a leading software developer, most recently in 2019.[13][14]

GoodFirms research platform has named NIX a leading mobile app developer.[15]

In 2018, NIX entered the Software 500 international ranking as a leading provider of software development services.[16][17][18]
