Qusecure, Inc. is an American cybersecurity company that builds software to help organizations protect against harvest-now-decrypt-later attacks and transition to quantum-resistant cryptography. Its products focus on post-quantum cryptography (PQC) migration through cryptographic asset discovery, orchestrated algorithm remediation, and crypto agility – the ability to rapidly update cryptographic methods as standards evolve, and compliance.
History
Qusecure was founded in 2019 to address the emerging threat of quantum computing to current cryptographic standards. The platform's May 2022 commercial launch preceded the August 2024 NIST standardization of post-quantum cryptographic algorithms, positioning QuSecure among early commercial providers of PQC.[1] At the same year, QuSecure received a U.S. Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III award related to post-quantum cryptography.[2]
On 27 March 2023, QuSecure and Accenture completed a live multi-orbit data communications test using post-quantum cryptography, demonstrating crypto-agility across satellite links.[3]
QuSecure's quantum-resilient SaaS is the first PQC product available on GSA's Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) as of September 2023, and GSA is actively seeking additional PQC vendors.[4]
In May 2024, the company was named one of America's Best Startup Employers by Forbes[5] and the 2024 Global Product Leader in the post-quantum cryptography industry by Frost & Sullivan.[6]
At the same time, QuSecure announced that its QuProtect platform had achieved SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II compliance.[7][8]
In June 2024, the company announced participation in industry initiatives, including NVIDIA's cuPQC library and Accenture Project Spotlight.[9][10] Also, Frost & Sullivan named QuSecure Global Product Leader in Post-Quantum Cybersecurity.[11]
In September, the World Economic Forum's Quantum Application Hub was launched as a platform to present real-world applications of quantum technologies and support knowledge sharing among policymakers, industry, and academia.[12]
In February 2025, QuSecure announced the closing of an additional Series A funding round totaling $28 million, led by Two Bear Capital with participation from Accenture Ventures, and appointed Rebecca Krauthamer as chief executive officer.[13][14]
In May, Forrester Research referenced QuSecure's approach to orchestrated crypto-agility in its Architect's Guide to Quantum Security as an example of recommended practice for post-quantum cryptography migration.[15]
Federal adoption
QuSecure has established a presence within U.S. Department of Defense procurement through multiple Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contracts. In June 2022, the company received a Phase III SBIR contract following a successful pilot deployment at a federal facility. The Phase III designation, which QuSecure was the first post-quantum cryptography vendor to receive, provides the right to sole-source government contracts and exemption from Small Business Administration size standards for procurement.[16][17]
In 2023, the U.S. Army awarded QuSecure a Phase II SBIR contract for quantum-resilient software solutions addressing tactical edge and tactical IoT devices for battle-ready deployment. The Army subsequently selected QuSecure for the Enhanced Post-Quantum Cryptography Suite for Tactical Networks research project.[18]
The U.S. Air Force awarded QuSecure its first SBIR contract in January 2024 through AFWERX,[19] followed by a second contract in January 2025 – a Phase II SBIR focused on quantum-resilient encryption for Department of the Air Force challenges.[20]
