Company:Rothschild & Cie Banque
Rothschild & Cie Banque is a French bank and belongs to Rothschild & Co. It provides investment banking, asset management, and wealth management services in France.
History
The bank was re-created by David de Rothschild, Eric de Rothschild and Edouard de Rothschild in 1984 after nationalization in 1981 of Banque Rothschild by the Socialist government of the president François Mitterrand. It was capitalized at only $1 million and started with just three employees. At first, the bank was named Paris Orléans Banque because it was banned from using the family name. That restriction disappeared in 1986 and the bank was renamed Rothschild et Associes Banque and later Rothschild & Cie Banque.[1]
Rothschild & Cie Banque is now the French branch of the Rothschild Group and specializes in the area of merger and acquisition advice, as well as private banking.
