SciChart is a company that provides advanced chart libraries for various platforms such as WPF, iOS, Android, and JavaScript.

Their chart libraries are used by professionals worldwide for applications requiring high-performance visualization of big data and complex scenarios.

They offer support for various technologies like TypeScript, React, Vue, Angular, Swift, Objective-C, and more. With a highly configurable API surface and excellent support, SciChart is used by over 10,000 expert developers globally.

History

Led by software architect Andrew Burnett-Thompson, SciChart was founded in March 2012. However, doctoral research dating back to 2003 led to the development of their GPU-accelerated 2D/3D chart library.[1]

SciChart's software has evolved significantly over time. Initially developed during a PhD program to address the need for plotting large datasets in 2D and 3D, SciChart has grown into a resource used by over 10,000 customers, and millions of end users in 90 countries.

Starting as a WPF chart library, the company is now recognised as the world’s only high-performance cross-platform chart library provider across WPF, iOS, Android and JavaScript.

The software has undergone several evolutions, with updates such as the introduction of consultancy services, cross-platform capabilities, and the development of SciChart.js for web applications.

The company's ethos is commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction and contributions to various fields such as healthcare, scientific research, and technological advancement.

Achievements

SciChart’s charting solutions were used to restore natural walking after paralysis from spinal cord injuries through the use of waveform visualization on nerve implants.

SciChart was selected for Nuclear Fusion research centered[2] on superconductors analysis via the Super X device by the Chinese Government & Hefei Institute of Physical Sciences, helping to deliver the world record for stable fusion at 403 seconds.[3]

The University of Illinois used SciChart to visualize big datasets of tumour images to reduce cancer screening times using a high-resolution medical imaging scanner.

Nasa leverages SciChart across multiple projects, including Streams, real-time biological signal processing for astronauts, and is targeted for deployment on the Moon to Mars Artemis missions.

Using SciChart, MirrorHR created an award-winning iOS app to monitor and help prevent epilepsy stroke in children, which won the Microsoft Hackathon 2019 award.

Awards
