AKUshaper is an integrated software and CNC hardware suite of tools for designing surfboards and manufacturing cuts from blanks. Nearly half a million boards are produced each year on AKUshaper's integrated hardware and software surfboard shaping package.[citation needed]
AKUshaper software is created and maintained by Jimmy Freese. Contributors to the software features and functionality includes Matt Biolos (Lost), Jamie Cheal (Chilli), Wade Tokoro and other surfboard shapers.
The AKUshaper CNC machine is designed and built by Mike Rickard in Australia .
