accessiBe is an Israeli technology company that offers web accessibility softwares for people with disabilities.[1][2][3][4][5] The company has raised $12.5 million in two rounds of funding.[6][7][8][9]

History

accessiBe was founded in 2018 by Dekel Skoop, Gal Vizel and Shir Ekerling.[10][11] The founders had an earlier background in digital marketing and they worked on developing a proprietary software that makes websites accessible for people with disabilities.[12][13] The first version took 18 months to complete and was created with the support and guidance of disabled people.[14] The technology is AI-powered and fully automated,[15] it scans and remediates websites’ code in real-time, to achieve ADA compliance through implementing the ADA and WCAG 2.1 guidelines.[16][17] The solution helps websites become ADA compliant within several hours, so that people with disabilities such as epilepsy, motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive dysfunction and epilepsy can access them and interact with ease.[18][19][20] Within a year of its launch, the company was able to have its first 25,000 clients including Volvo, BMW, Hilton, Burger King, LonelyPlanet, Fiverr, Deloitte Billabong, and HStern to become accessible.[21] accessiBe’s software is compliant with WCAG 2.1, ADA Title III, Section 508, EAA/EN301548 and ACA/AODA.[22][23]

Funding

accessiBe first raised $500,000 from private investors including Nadav Dakner, Elad Mor, Itai Elizur, Oron Yaffe, and others.[24] In May 2020, the company raised $12 million in Series A funding from K1 Investment Management.[25][26][27][28]
