The Chery Tiggo 5 was launched in November 2013[1] on the 2013 Guangzhou Auto Show. The Chery Tiggo 5 was later launched in China on November 28, pricing starts around 100,000 yuan to 150,000 yuan. The Tiggo 5 is slightly larger and is positioned above the Chery Tiggo 3 compact crossover.[2]

The new generation of the Tiggo 5 was unveiled in China with the MIIT released photos published on 9 April 2026.[3] The identical model was previously introduced in April 2025 for export markets as the Lepas L4, as the second model from the export-only Lepas marque.[4]
