The Foton Xiangling V5 (福田祥菱V5) is a series of micro trucks produced by the Chinese automaker Foton Motor from 2025. Despite the name means being part of the Xiangling V series, the V5 is larger in size, with completely restyled cab design, and only available as pick up truck body styles without van variants.[1][2][3]

Overview

Launched in May, 2025,[4] the Xiangling V5 is available as an internal combustion engine vehicle, a range extended electric vehicle, and a battery electric vehicle.[5] With the model being the largest of the Xiangling V family, the cargo bed is especially larger than the usual standard for micro trucks, with the largest dimensions reaching 3.8m by 1.85m.[6]

ICE

The cheapest Xiangling V5 is powered by a 2.0 liter inline-4 engine producing 139 hp. A 1.6 liter inline-4 engine producing 120 hp mated to a Landai-supplied 5-speed manual transmission is the powertrain for the mid-range spec, and a 2.2 liter inline-4 engine with CNG producing 133 hp is the top of the trim powertrain.[7][8]

REEV

The range extended electric vehicle is equipped with a Wuling Liuji (五菱柳机) supplied 1.6 liter range extender plus a CATL supplied 43.47kWh battery, allowing the combined range to exceed the 1000 km mark.[9]

BEV

The electric variant could be had with either CATL batteries or Foton's self-developed Aiyike (爱易科) batteries. Battery sizes are 55.17kWh, 55.64kWh, 65.66kWh, and 71.63kWh.[10] The electric drive produces 90 kW, and fast charging is supported allowing 80% of SOC to be reached within 30 minutes. Additionally, battery swap is also enabled and could be done in 5 minutes.[11]
